Shelden Announces Voter Registration Kiosk in Illini Union - 8/27/2003

Champaign County Clerk Mark Shelden announced that a Voter Registration Kiosk is available at the Southeast Entrance of the Illini Union. The Kiosk is available from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. Sunday through Thursday and 7:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. on Fridays and Saturdays. Shelden said, “The Kiosk has already registered dozens of voters this past week.”

The computer station, created by the County Clerk’s office, allows Champaign County residents to register to vote or update their voter registration address. Users type in their voter registration information, receive a complete printed application and then sign and deposit the application in a slot – all in one location. The voter then receives a voter identification card in the mail.

Students and other County residents can also use the County Clerk Web site (www.champaigncountyclerk.com) to check their voter status and registration address. Address changes may also be processed by using the Voter Registration Kiosk.
