What are the requirements to be a Student Election Judge?
Be a High School Senior with a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Be at least 16 years of age at the time of the election.
Be a U.S. Citizen at the time of the election.
Complete successfully a 2 hour training session.
Be able to work from 5:00 A.M. until all duties are completed to close the polling place after the election.

What are the duties of a Champaign County Student Election Judge?
An Election Judge is responsible for the conduct of the election in the precinct to which he or she is assigned. Each precinct is usually assigned five judges.
The judges are responsible for setting up the election equipment in the morning, conducting a fair and impartial election, and tallying and reporting the results at the end of the day.
Compensation: Trained Election Judges receive $120 for the day. Checks are mailed to your home within a few weeks of the election.
How do I apply: Students who wish to apply must be sponsored by their High School and obtain the permission of their parents or guardians and principal. The following form must be completed and returned to the County Clerk's Office with the appropriate signatures no later than October 3, 2008. Students must then attend an election judge training class.
